Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Boston Academic Consulting Group is a premier educational consulting firm working with aspiring and motivated students to guide, mentor, and prepare them for admission to America's top schools. Our students are from every part of the country and the world - Seattle, Houston, Los Angeles, Bethesda, Fort Lee, Atlanta, Seoul, Sao Paulo and Jakarta. Whether by telephone, e-mail, fax, and personal meetings, we work together toward one goal - to gain admission to the student's #1-choice school.
Our staff is unparalleled in their educational background and experiences. All of our staff hold one or more higher degrees at one of the nation's top schools and universities. Many have worked in admissions for those schools. Together, we have over 70 years of experience working with students and parents.
Angela Suh Um

Angela Suh Um, founder and Chief Consultant of Boston Academic Consulting Group, grew up in Los Angeles, California and graduated with honors from Harvard, where she studied Government and East Asian Studies. After receiving her Master's degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, she worked for several years in the world of admissions, development, and alumni relations at Harvard and at M.I.T. Most recently, she served as a Senior Admissions Officer and Director of the interviewing process at M.I.T. Ms. Um is an educational columnist for several national newspapers, and has been featured, interviewed, and quoted on television and in print media over the past fifteen years for her expertise and unique insider's perspective in competitive admissions to the nation's top schools. She loves working with young students and has also led seminars, training sessions, and workshops on academic planning, admissions strategies, and other topics in higher education.
